Volunteer Requirements

The Master Gardener program trains people to volunteer for the Texas AgriLife Extension Service. The title Master Gardener is used when volunteering for the Extension Service and is not a professional certification.

To be certified as a Master Gardener you must volunteer 60 hours in the first year and 30 hours a year to re-certify each year.
